Noon, Nov. 10, monthly potluck at the Bigfork Community Center. We will elect officers and propose new board members replacing those members who will retire at the end of their terms. We encourage all members to attend November meeting to participate in this process. (See below for details)

FUTURE PLANS New plans for your community and senior center will be discussed at the annual membership meeting at noon, Nov. 10. Lisa Sheppard from Flathead County Agency on Aging will speak, outlining future possibilities for the community center. We will continue on our regular schedule of congregate meals – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday every week. See our schedule of future events below.


• Hot lunch three days a week at noon – all seniors age 60 and over donations are requested to defray the cost of meals $4 ($6 for non-seniors). • Meals on wheels program with home deliveries to home-bound seniors. Call 837-4157. • Monthly potluck lunches at noon the second Thursday of each month followed by a general meeting of members for discussion with question-and-answer session to provide information regarding the future of your community center and promote interest in future activities.

Also regarding energy costs – Flathead Electric Coop and Northwestern Energy will allow averaging of energy bills to provide ease of budgeting. Contact your utility for information.

DRIVING COURSE AARP driving course for seniors offered 9 a.m,. to 1 p.m, Nov. 17. Call 837-4147 for details. Completion of this course may enable you to reduce your auto insurance costs.

SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Class 2 – “Putting sparkle in your Christmas” – adding jewels to wall hangings, Christmas stockings, etc. You will probably come up with other things you’ll want to decorate. When: 2 p.m., Thursday Nov. 17 Class 3 – “A gift in a mason jar” – using decorated mason jars for dry ingredients from popular recipes. A perfect gift for a beginning cook, for busy moms and dads. When: 1:30 p.m., Thursday Dec. 1 All classes are at the Bigfork Community Center. Fee $3 members, $5 non members. For more information contact Jolynn Yenne or call 756-8992 or the center 837-4157. Activity 4 – “Holiday bites and bingo” potluck appetizers for a light lunch – bring holiday appetizer to share with 12 to 15 people, include recipe. CHURCH HISTORY Announcement: looking for people who have knowledge about the history of our local churches that have been in existence for 50 years or more, for a possible speaker series in the new year. Please call Joelynn Yenne at 756-8992 if you have an interest in this program.

KNITTING GROUP A knitting group is meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays. Everyone is invited to join. Knitting lessons are available for beginners, experienced, and anyone interested in learning to knit. Anyone interested in other fiber crafts are also encouraged to attend. Lisa Sheppard will speak to us about the future possibilities of a new community center for Bigfork. We need participation and interest from the community if we are going to progress in that direction. Please attend – renew memberships for next year – vote on and meet new board members – thank our departing board members for their service to our community. We will never make progress without participation and interest!!!
