PIE AUCTION AT THE SWAN RIVER COMMUNITY HALL May 5!

Mark your calendars today for the evening of Friday, May 5th! This long-awaited spring fundraiser to benefit the Swan River Community Hall starts at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5 or one pie per family.

Some of the best pie makers in the Flathead will contribute pies for auction by an entertaining and skillful auctioneer well-known in our valley. Whole

pies will go to the highest bidders and slices of pie will sell for $2.50 (or $3.00 for pie a la mode). Complimentary coffee and lemonade will be available throughout the evening.

This year’s proceeds will go toward the new heating system and materials to enclose the outside unit. Previous fundraisers have supported kitchen improvements; provided new tables, chairs and carts; added a new roof; installed new flooring in the back hall and bathrooms; replaced the bathroom toilets and the ceiling and lights in the main hall; insulated the storeroom and balanced the acoustics. The Swan River Community Hall, a center of celebration and activity since 1932, has been well-supported by the community it serves!

The Board, a focused group of Bigfork citizens dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of the Hall, is made up of (alphabetically) Dave Beyer, Leonard Castro, Charlotte French, Sue Hanson, Linda and Dave Russell, Linda and Bill Stewart, Rich Whitaker, and Gary Wilson, not only meets to make decisions about Hall projects, but members do a great deal of the work themselves in order to maintain the building and assure the Hall a permanent place in the community’s life for years to come.

The Hall is located at the corner of Echo Lake/Swan River Road and Montana Highway 83, kitty-corner from the Echo Lake Café. Call Linda Russell (837-5407) with any questions about the event. It will be a season highlight, not to be missed!!
