Meet Your Bigfork Organic Farmer and Consumer Night April 5


Attentionl Bigfork food producers/consumers!

You are invited to “Meet your Bigfork Organic Farmer and Consumer night!” April 5, 1st Thursday in April, at the new VFW in Bigfork , across form Harvest foods on Hwy 35. Come early for dinner and social. 6:30-8 is our speakers, Q&A, and comments. After the meeting the new documentary “Polifaces” by the Dohertys about Joel Salatin’s multi-species, soil-building, educational, multi-generational farm. This is a great Organic Local Food networking extravaganza! Here is a chance to book your food orders for this year whether you are one, a family, or a food service.

This will also be a fundraiser for the Bigfork Middle School Garden. Teaching kids the importance of growing food is key to our future. This is a Family friendly event.

Lakeside/ Sommers/ Swan/Echo/ Woods and YellowBay etc. invited!!!

Gretchen Boyer will give us an overview of the Nourish the Flathead’s Farmhands map showing who grows what around the valley. Organic farmers will present from: Yellow Bay gardens, Brooke Bohanan, Wicked Good farms, Mandy Gerth- Lower Valley, Ted Wycall’s new farm “Mountain Kind Farm” in Lower Valley, Bob Storers Rose Creek Ranch. We will hear briefly from businesses serving local foods: Simple Chef Catering, Bigfork

and we will hear from the Bigfork Village Market group about the exciting new Mondays market 4-7 at Brookside Cafe. This will be the second night of Local foods promotion following a great dinner fundraiser for Nourish the Flathead at the Raven on Wed, the 4th. Make sure to hear and see the farmers speak on Thursday, April 5 at the VFW!! When Bigfork Speaks, we grow as a stronger community. Members of the Bigfork Toastmasters club will emcee the event which is sponsored by Permaculture Montana, and the Bigfork Beagle newspaper. Thanks to all who are participating.
