Swan River Warriors take 3rd in hoops tourney

Photo by Shawna Benson A great season comes to an end. So many good wins and losses have happened in this season of fifth and sixth grade basketball. Everyone did great and all deserve a trophy but there are only three trophies to win: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Third place went to The Swan River Warriors, Coach Marshall Wade is a great coach and has been encouraging us for the whole season. It was a close game the whole time but we were tied at the end 16 to 16, and we got an overtime for 2 minutes. Then we made a basket and won the game!

Second place went to The Cayuse Prairie Mustangs. They played a great game and are a very tough team to beat!

And finally first place went to The Fare-Mont-Egan Bruins. It was a good game between Cayuse Prairie and Fair-Mont-Egan. But in the end, Fair-Mont-Egan played as hard as they could and won the game.

As a community reminder, good sportsmanship not only applies to the players but to the spectators as well we were reminded of this during the tournaments due to a parent asked to leave because of unsportsmanlike conduct.

At the end if the day it’s about the game and the lessons about teamwork that the players truly value. As the girls basketball season comes to a close we are thankful for the community that we live in that are so supportive, and made this season spectacular.
